Painting and Video
In my painting, the demonstrable power of vigorous mark-making and high-key coloured impasto paint dramatise the energy required in making an image, not only the intellectual acuity, but the determination of the physical in producing expressive forms of painting.
My video work draws on contemporary dance and improvisation, in concert with the images of landscape and the environment, to see how the strangeness and the reformulation of the body in motion can be made to perform and narrate meaning.
